Just one week away from Taiko Spirit festival and everyone is pretty pumped!

Festival Programme

The Taiko Spirit 2018 programme is now ready!
We’ve really outdone ourselves this year, so please have a look below.

We’re very fortunate to have such a diverse and exciting bunch of groups performing on stage! The evenings will kickoff with the Open Mic Concerts, which feature too many groups to list here – awesome!! These will be followed by Matsuri Concerts, which feature our festival contributors:

  • Friday: Coritani, Tsuchigumo Daiko, and Kawasaki Taiko Fellowship Hibiki.

  • Saturday: Masayuki Sakamoto, Isaku Kageyama, Tiffany Tamaribuchi, Marco Lienhard, and Kion Dojo.

Sunday’s Sayonara Concert will feature collaborative performances, both spontaneous and planned. Open community pieces for everyone to jump in on will be ‘Worldwide Matsuri’, ‘Narushima’, ‘Omiyage’, and ‘Umi no Taiko’.
Check at the festival the entrance to signup!

Tickets

Please ensure you purchase your tickets and passes online before 00:00 Tuesday 21 August. Please remember that a workshop ticket must also be accompanied by a 1-day or festival pass here. Camping passes (1 per person) are free, but limited in number and must still be ordered online as well.

Location Tips

Here are some helpful hints to make your stay with us at Taiko Spirit the best it can be!

At Taiko Spirit, we immerse ourselves in the natural world as much as possible in an open-air setting. Though the forecast does look favourable, the beautiful scenery in the fore-alps does means we do have to be prepared for any weather.

Hof Eichholz is a beautiful farm, but it is no petting zoo. Let’s respect the hosting farm by taking care of the land and it’s inhabitants – please do not enter the festival grounds with your vehicle nor feed or pet the farm animals. No traffic is permitted on Eichholzstrasse or Rebhalde, but drop-offs are allowed via Adetswilerstrasse here. Parking and public transit advice can be found here. After 10 pm we should keep the noise to a minimum.

If you are staying overnight on the festival grounds with us, please bring your own toiletries, bath towels and bedding. All guests are requested to lower their environmental impact by also bringing personal reusable cups and cutlery of their own. Some sort of picnic blanket will also be helpful to say cosy during the concerts, which continue after sunset.

Everyone is donating their time and materials for this wonderful event to happen. In the same spirit, we ask that you support the festival by visiting our affordable bar and food stalls, and perhaps lending your muscles on Sunday afternoon to teardown.

We have already started to build up the festival grounds, so please excuse us if we no longer respond to your questions! Our website is very informative and is written in 4 languages, so perhaps the answers you seek are there.

On behalf of the Taiko Spirit team, I can’t wait to welcome you all to Taiko Spirit 2018!
